Yes, you got it: I would like to extract only filtered values from the datasource.
Usually when query is triggered on an Infoprovider, a sql (or mdx) statement is performed accordingly to the users' selection.
With OpenODS View datasource based, the selection condition are passed to the the structure but not forwarded to the datasource.
You asked for screenshots: sorry but I haven't any.
